All Along

This is not how it should be

Nor the way it could be

But how it is.

This is not how it’s gonna be

It's the only way known to you and me;

And

We can’t imagine it any other way.

This is not where we dreamed we'd be

When we started on our journey

But this is where we are.

We imagine a day

We’ll arrive where we were meant to be

And we'll see

And say

He was guiding us there all along.
